Michael Starling, Managing Director
Michael is a strategy consultant based in Perth, Australia, with 21 years experience in a variety of industries in Australia and overseas.
Michael started his career as a Chartered Civil Engineer in the water industry and has held many senior roles including Team Leader and Principal Engineer. He also holds an MBA and a Master of Finance and has gained General Manager experience. With more than 10 years post MBA experience and extensive strategy consulting, Michael is a solutions focused problem solver. He also has a focus on energy and sustainability.
He has extensive experience in the development of strategic business plans for organisations at all stages of development from start-up phase, through Small and Medium Enterprises, to mature global leading companies.
Previous clients include: WA Energy providers; WA Insurance broker; WA Natural Resource Management organisation; WA Corporate Superannuation Fund; Australian biotechnology start-up company; new technology water treatment company; leading Australian University; large Asian Flour Miller; and Global Oilfield Services company.
He is a member of the Strategic Planning Society and the Australian Institute of Company Directors and continues to be involved with various committees including the Maia Maia ERCS – believed to be the world’s first community based Carbon Emissions Reduction Currency System (www.maiamaia.org).
A keen sportsman, Michael enjoys many team and individual sports and is a member of North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club and Melville Hockey Club. He has played hockey at international level for both Scotland and Australia.
